Last week, the 7 partners of UPSIDE met in Freiburg to celebrate the first on-site general assembly of the project after the kick off meeting. The meeting took place on 21 and 22 September at the premises of the Freiburg University. This was a perfect occasion to get to know each other better and create synergies for the advancement of the project. On the first day, each work package gave an overview of the current status of their tasks and upcoming deliverables, and presented the technical developments towards the UPSIDE breakthrough solution. These sessions included a discussion part to brainstorm and share ideas around challenges in light of technological integrations and next steps. During the last hour of the day partners had the honor to learn more about functional neurosurgery and depression from the inspiring presentation of Prof. Dr Volker Coenen that reminded to everyone the impact aspects of what we want to achieve in this project. In the morning of the second day, we had some time for a session to discuss particularly our dissemination strategy tailored to the needs of the different stakeholders’ groups, as well as challenges towards human translation.
